The Design of the Wall: A Guide to Scale

The Design of the Wall: A Guide to Scale

The most common question in interior design is not "What art should I buy?" but "Does it fit?" We tend to buy art that is too small for our walls, creating a visual "floating" effect that makes a room feel cluttered rather than curated.

Metrographie prints are architectural studies. Therefore, they must be treated like architecture. The Vignette (8x6) is for the shelf. The Standard (18x24) is for the grid. The Statement (28x20) anchors the room. But the Window (40x28) is a renovation. When you hang a piece this size of Place-d'Armes, you are effectively knocking a hole in your wall and revealing the metro station behind it.

Give it negative space. Let it stand alone. Once you have determined the scale that respects your architecture, access the complete collection to find the window that belongs on your wall.
